Description

This small device is a sound and ultrasound recorder up to 384kHz ranges with multiple applications in bioacoustics, as it can record audible sounds, such as insects, birds and mammals, including bats.

It can also be used for poaching control, by detecting gunshots.

This device is developed by Open Acoustics Devices, a small group of researchers at the University of Southampton, UK, and offers hardware and software based on “open science” that involves several teams of researchers in its design.

Audiomoth is a low-cost, full-spectrum acoustic recorder with a Silicon Labs Gecko processor that can detect sounds in the audible to ultrasonic range and record them at rates from 8,000 to 384,000 samples per second for further analysis.

It has become a popular and effective tool that is an excellent alternative to other much more expensive equipment.

Characteristics:

  • 1.2.0 Version
