Description
Scoutguard cameras have been revolutionary in photo trapping, due to their reliability, simple operation, long battery life and low price, but above all for their small size. Bolymedia is the manufacturer.
New Bolymedia model is based on the BG310 design, which simultaneously includes two types of illumination; no-glow light (940 nm, invisible) and white light (visible light). It is only 11 cm high and 8 cm wide, which allows good concealment in the field.
Many of the new models from this manufacturer are changing battery type to rechargeable 18650 lithium batteries that provide 3.7 V (for comparison, an AA alkaline battery provides 1.5 V). This represents an advantage in battery life, as it supports between 500 and 1000 charge cycles.
The camera has been simplified to achieve a very competitive price, but with the reliability of the Scoutguard electronics. The display and control buttons are located on the front of the camera and inside the camera only the batteries and SD memory are accessible.
However, even though it is small, it has the power of other cameras. With 33 megapixel and HD video with audio, this camera as nothing to envy to other higher priced models.
Its powerful sensor has a range of 30 meters and its black light LEDs also reach almost 30 meters.
We recommend for this model the mini solar panel SP-02U (7 x 9 cm) that completes in an exceptional way the charging duration of this camera, forgetting about the energy problem for years.
