Finally, the new Spartan cameras arrived in 2022, with big changes in the general appearance and with new functionalities. This model S688 is the most advanced of all, with a radical change of the case, more compact and smaller, with the grouping of the sensors and lens in the upper area and a front door that gives way to the buttons and a large LED display.
This configuration is the one spreading among most manufacturers as the most effective since, among other things, the screen allows the framing to be visualized, and the general waterproofing of the equipment is greatly improved.
The backlit keypad and the large display, with an easy to view and program menu, are very convenient to check in the field. Another important improvement is a very robust metal rear anchor that allows the camera to be placed in a tree (important, an allen key is required!!).
The lens is of the panoramic type, with a FOV of 110°, which greatly improves the field of view compared to other cameras. The image quality is excellent, with the typical aspect of panoramic lenses with deformation at the edges. The night illumination is very powerful, no-glow type light in which the LED does not shine, with a range of about 20m.
The photo resolution is 3, 5, 8, 10, 12 and 24 mpx and for video WVGA at 60 fps, 720p at 60 fps, 1080p at 60 fps and 1440p at 30 fps.
Shooting speed has been improved, with an excellent 0.4 s in photo and 1.3 s in video, which is more than reasonable, considering that it is a camera with image transmission.
The motion sensor reaches 25 meters.
The Spartan is manufactured with top quality products, the case is made of a robust material and both the fasteners and the rest of the elements are of excellent quality.
The Spartan can send images via internet, using a SIM card (nano size), that is placed in the camera. Sending is done over the Internet, eliminating the high costs of cameras that only send via MMS. This card is like the ones used in any mobile phone, either prepaid or with a contract. It works with any telephone company and must be programmed with the data provided by the contracted telephone company.
As an important new feature, this model allows you to activate a GPS and ACCELEROMETER function of the camera, so that in case it is moved from its location, it will automatically start sending messages with its coordinates, even if the camera has been turned off!
The sending can be done even with 4G or LTE, which allows incredibly fast sending speeds, (in just 3 seconds, it reaches the server) and also with low battery consumption. It has a high gain antenna, and can send both photos and videos. 4G sending only supports 32GB SD memory.
It has a communication function with the camera via SMS. This is very convenient as you can have full remote control of the camera from another mobile terminal: change the interval, add or change the email, request to take a picture and send it at any time, etc.
It is very easy to program the camera, as the instructions for MOVISTAR, VODAFONE and ORANGE are preconfigured. IN THE MENU OF THE SCREEN YOU CAN CONFIGURE IT QUICKLY.
