Description
Micro camera for monitoring wildlife in nest boxes and many other locations. This small camera offers a wide variety of possibilities for wildlife monitoring projects in our home or garden, but also in the wild, complemented by solar panels.
The advantage of this model is that it can be connected to a Wi-Fi network if we place it, for example, in our garden or terrace, in an area where our Wi-Fi signal reaches. We can see what’s happening live on our phone at all times using a free app.
The camera is powered by a cable to connect to the mains so that it transmits constantly, but it can also be connected to a solar panel with a battery, and when the camera has enough power, it can be connected to it. This option allows for a wide range of placement options, as the camera can broadcast its own Wi-Fi signal, and we can connect to the camera up to 20 meters away.
It’s important to note that this camera isn’t weatherproof, so it should be placed in areas protected from rain, such as inside nest boxes, on the ledges of homes, or even through a window pane. You can also make a simple shelter with a plastic bottle to keep it dry.
In this video, you can see an example of how this camera is mounted in a scops owl’s nest, which we did with @melerus.
