This “ultra” version is the 2026 upgrade of the Specs Ops Elite HP5. Browning is without a doubt the most innovative brand of all and constantly introduces changes and innovations for their cameras. This version appears just a few months after the release of the HP4.
It’s practically identical to the previous version, except that they’ve increased the resolution from 24 to 46 megapixels, which isn’t really a significant improvement since it’s image interpolation, not a true increase in the image generated by the sensor.
Shortly after this model’s release, some comments appeared on social media regarding the low image quality of this new model, but this problem only affected the first units. We waited to bring in new units until this issue was resolved with a camera software update from the manufacturer. The units we tested have excellent image quality.
This camera is highly recommended for those mostly interested in capturing video, as they are of the highest possible quality, with 1440p FullHD at 30 or 60 frames per second.
Browning cameras are noted for the incredible speed of the circuit and in this model they have improved it to only 0.1 sec and a recovery of 0.5 sec which is one of the fastest of all photo trapping cameras.
It has a schedule system to determine when will the camera be operating daily.
The detection field of the sensor is very wide and adjustable, reaching more than 27 m. The night illumination is very powerful, reaching almost 40 m. This model uses conventional infrared light LEDs (the LEDs DO NOT glow).
It has a new lighting adjustment system with three options (power safe, long range and fast motion) that allows to increase or decrease the power and also to conserve battery power, as well as to achieve better lighting intensity. The power safe option illuminates with lower power and saves battery power, e.g. in close lighting situations. It also features a new Illuma-smart system that adjusts the infrared light for the best night shots.
The programming is easy to use and has an incredibly low battery consumption, which allows it to remain operational for more than 36 months on only 8 batteries! (calculated with lithium batteries and about 70 photos per day).
