This “Edge” version is the 2020 upgrade of the Recon Force Advantage.
Browning has changed the external appearance of the camera, with a better finished case, with a less boxy look and less background, which greatly enhances its camouflage.
Most of the features are similar to the previous “Advantage” model, although the image and video quality is improved, and the programming menu appears in multi-language (Spanish, English, French, German, Dutch, Dutch, Italian and Polish).
This camera is highly recommended for those most interested in video, as they are of the highest possible quality, with Full HD (1920×1080 p) at 30 or 60 frames per second.
Night videos are bright and of very good quality, which are improved over the black light Specs Ops due to the “conventional infrared light” illumination.
The Edge series cameras are noted for the incredible speed of the circuitry, making this one of the fastest cameras on the market today, especially in recovery speeds. The trigger speed is only 0.22 sec and a recovery of 0.6 sec which is one of the fastest of all photo trapping cameras.
It has a timetable system to determine the daily operating time of the camera.
The detection field of the sensor is very wide and adjustable, reaching more than 25 m. The night illumination is very powerful, reaching more than 25 m.
This model uses conventional infrared light LEDs (the LEDs DO glow).
It has a new lighting type regulation system (Power safe and long range) that allows you to increase or decrease the power and also conserve battery power, in addition to achieving better lighting intensity. It also has a new Illuma-smart system that adjusts the infrared light to get the best night photos.
Browning cameras are the best wildlife tracking cameras because they have one of the best electronic circuits, with a very high shutter speed and minimum recovery time, being able to chain numerous captures, if necessary, without failing to record anything that passes in front of the camera. This camera, for its performance, should be in the higher price bracket, around 300.00 euros. There are other much more expensive cameras that do not even come close to its performance.
The programming is easy to use and has a very low battery consumption, which allows it to remain operational for more than 12 months with only eight batteries (calculated with lithium batteries and about 70 photos per day).
