We know. There are so many models and so many options and features, that unless you already know what you’re looking for, it’s hard to decide. That’s why we want to give you our opinion on what’s important and what’s not when it comes to choosing a computer.

OPTION 1. WITH INTERNET IMAGE TRANSMISSION
This is a good way to start. The cameras with image transmission are recommended especially for surveillance and property security applications, since you get the information just a few seconds after the camera captures it. They are the most recommended for monitoring farms, rural houses, crops and any facility susceptible to theft and intrusions.
These cameras need a SIM card with internet coverage in the area we want to monitor. Since we must reduce the possibility of it being detected by thieves, we only choose those that also have “no-glow” light, i.e. the LEDs are not colored at night.
OPTION 2. LIGHT TYPE
The night lighting that we always recommend is infrared lighting. Within this type of lighting there are two versions: “conventional infrared light” and “no-glow light“. In the first one the LEDs glow slightly when they are emitting light and in the “no-glow” one they do not glow at all.
“White light” cameras should be used with caution because they may be more easily spotted, and because they can be a nuisance to wildlife. They are recommended for studies in which the identification of individuals can be made by coloration patterns
OPTION 3. DISPLAY SCREEN
We are referring to the fact that on the camera’s screen you can see the photos or videos, and even better, that on the screen you can see what the camera is framing. This is especially necessary if we want to make a very precise framing, for example in a perch or in a specific point. In cameras that have a programming-only screen, we will have to calculate the center point of framing by eye and maybe check the photos that the camera has taken on a laptop, viewfinder or by connecting it to the phone, which is not always possible.
OPCIÓN 4. MAXIMUM VIDEO RESOLUTION
There are cameras especially recommended for their quality and video resolution. They are devices for video enthusiasts who often need the highest resolution in order to be able to edit it later. Video resolution is defined by the number of horizontal dots per vertical dots. Thus 640×480 is the smallest video size and 4096 x 2160 is the largest. Remember that large videos take up a lot of space in the SD memory and use a lot of battery power for processing.
